News Museum is Europe's largest Media and Communication experience.
The museum occupies the former facilities of the Toy Museum, in Sintra's Historic Centre, highlighting and explaining media coverage of episodes in recent history, while allowing visitors to interact with Radio and TV.
It pays tribute to the journalists immortalised by their work, and introduces the major players in the industry, predicts the evolution of war reporting, contextualises well known conflicts and looks back on the "bad news" of our time.
The museum uses modern and interactive equipment, and includes a small auditorium prepared for educational visits. The experience is personalised, spanning 16 hours of video and other formats and is available in both English and Portuguese.
Opening hours:
Monday, Tuesday and Sunday open exclusively for events or group tours (by appointment only).
Wednesday through Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 6.30 p.m.
Last entry: 5:30 p.m.
Closed December25th
