The MU.SA museum offers a journey through figurative art in the Municipal Collection of Contemporary Art, among others things, through painting and sculpture produced by Portuguese and foreign artists residing in Portugal. Its programme is multifaceted, with works of art on different themes, created by authors from several generations using distinct techniques, and works by artists on the municipal, national and international scene.
The museum is housed in the old Casino building, next to the Olga Cadaval Cultural Centre, and also has a photo area, a Municipal Bookstore and a Municipal Gallery with temporary exhibitions by Portuguese and foreign artists.
