With the reorganisation of the Air Museum, a new Museum opened to the public at Air Base No. 1 (Sintra) at the end of January 2010, in its ongoing mission to conserve, restore and exhibit National Aeronautical Heritage.
Spread across three sites - Sintra, Alverca and Ovar - this museum hosts the TAP and ANA collections, enriching a collection that already contained over 100 aircraft and 9500 inventoried items.
The Air Force and its Museum now offer the public an exhibition enriched with rarely seen pieces, some recently restored and some new additions, safeguarding Portugal's aeronautical heritage.
