Located in the village of Almoçageme, this wine cellar is one of the oldest Colares wine producers. Viúva Gomes & Filhos, recipient of the Grand Prize at the 1915 Panama–Pacific International Exposition, was the main wine supplier for soldiers fighting the French front during the Great War of 1914-1918.
At Viúva Gomes we lay our passion on the wines we create. These are an extension of our personality, personal taste and faiths. We in believe in genuine wines, attached to the surrounding land and promote free winemaking.
Today a project of father and son, 4th and 5th generation of the family, the main focus is to protect the Region of Colares. Committed on maintaining our wines as classics, respecting the long path that brought us here. Nevertheless, we keep a creative mind for new discoveries. We love to explore and craft, assuring the sense of place of this singular wine-growing region.
