This vast beach covered in gold sand and bathed by a turquoise sea is considered one of the most iodine rich beaches.
From this sandy beach dotted with rocks, it is possible to get a glimpse of Cabo da Roca in the distance, to the south.
Next to the access ramp to the beach you will find a fossil dune, a classified geomonument. The so-called consolidated dune is one of the most interesting geological aspects of the beach. This coastal dune was formed by accumulation of sand generated by the combined action of the sea and the wind.
It is located at the mouth of Ribeira da Mata, near the town of Magoito, in the northwest of Sintra.
